Commercial Pilot is getting one of the highest salary in India, Fresh pilot salary is around Rs 1.5  Lakh per moth for domestic airlines. Salary moves up rapidly with year of experience and on the international route. Experienced pilot on international route can get 5-6 lakh Rupees per month as salary.
To become a pilot, aspirants need to join Air flying schools after completion of 10+2, they should pass the 10+2 exam with physic, chemistry, math. Minimum marks should be 50%.

They need to clear the entrance test exam of the flying schools in India, they also need to clear the physical fitness (Which is tough one). Only totally fit person can get opportunity to get admission in flying schools.
The cost of education is very high, it is around Rs 15- 20 lakh. Many banks can give loan up to 50%.
After completion of education, they get the licence of pilot. Airlines companies hires the successful candidates as trainee.
The salary of trainee is less. After successful completion of training periods they are posted as pilot.
Even after becoming commercial pilot, they need regular medical check up, any problem in health can cause cancellation of the licence of the pilot.
So, over all, job as a pilot is too challenging as well as very high rewarding .
Don’t confuse with the job of pilot of Indian air Force. IAF pilot is selected through NDA exam, training is free and pay is based on Indian gov salary (Air Force) which is around 40-50 K Rs per moth. IAF pilot can not to leave their job to become commercial pilot easily.

If you are interested to become a commercial pilot then, min requirement is 12th pass with Physics & Maths..After that
1. Clear DGCA class 2 medical and get your File Number.
2. Take initial ground class for an experienced instructor.
3. Choose a good flight training school in USA, Canada, New Zealand (other than India) and take admission
4.Fly and log min of 200 hrs
5.Clear theory & flying exams and get your CPL
Being a Pilot I suggest you not to contact any agents or consultancy..Do not waste your money on them..You can directly join the flight schools for your CPL training

Training cost depend on the country & school you select,
In USA the cost will be 16-22 lakh, duration 6 - 8 months
In New zealand it will be 19-25 lakh, duration 1 year
In India the same course will be around 28 - 30 lakh, duration 2 - 3 years..

If you are interested to become a pilot in Indian Airforce then,
There are mainly 2 type of entries,

(i) NDA Entry: 10 + 2 male students with Mathematics and Physics as their subjects can apply provided they are between 16 1/2 Yrs -19 Yrs of age and are unmarried. NDA Advertisements are released by UPSC in March and September every year. Aspirants must remember that UPSC releases advertisements 15 months in advance for courses commencing January and July every year. This is for permanent commission into the Flying Branch of the IAF.

(ii) CDSE Entry: A qualified graduate or a final-year B.E/B. Tech in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10 +2 level can apply through CDSE if he/she is unmarried and between 19-23 Yrs of age. Candidates have to apply in response to the Flying Branch Advertisements given during Apr and Oct by UPSC. Aspirants must remember that UPSC releases advertisements 15 months in advance for courses commencing January and July every year. This is for permanent commission into the Flying Branch of the IAF.

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY BACKLOGS AND 60% AGGREGATE
YOU HAVE TO WRITE C.D.S(COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAM) CONDUCTED BY U.P.S.C . WHICH WILL BE CONDUCTED IN MARCH/APRIL AND SEPTEMBER/NOVEMBER

  1. Some institutes in India are only taking 2-3 lakh rupees for the whole course, especially the government ones.I have visited the official sites of these institutes.I have heard that it's very expensive in most institutes. What is the catch!??? Can anybody tell me !
